Refund Policy

Effective date: 22 March 2026

Contact: hello@makerbrief.com

This Refund Policy explains our approach to refunds and cancellations for Makerbrief subscriptions. Please read it carefully before subscribing.

1. Free Trial

Makerbrief offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required and full access to all features. We encourage you to use the trial period to evaluate whether the Service meets your needs before subscribing to a paid plan. We are unable to issue refunds for situations where a free trial was available.

2. No Refund Policy

All subscription payments — whether monthly or annual — are non-refundable. This applies to:

  • Monthly subscription payments.
  • Annual subscription payments, including any unused portion of the annual term.
  • Any period during which your account is active but you have not used the Service.

By subscribing, you acknowledge and accept this no-refund policy.

3. How Cancellation Works

You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings page. There are no cancellation fees or penalties.

When you cancel:

  • Your subscription will not automatically renew at the end of the current billing period.
  • You will retain full access to the Service until the last day of your current billing period.
  • After the billing period ends, your account will be suspended and you will no longer be able to log in or access your data.
  • You may request deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing hello@makerbrief.com.

4. Account Suspension and Service Interruption

After your free trial ends, the Service will be interrupted until you add a payment method and subscribe to a paid plan. No charge is made during the trial and no refund is applicable.

If a payment fails and your subscription lapses, the Service will be suspended until payment is resolved. We will not issue a refund or credit for any period of unintended suspension caused by a failed payment.

5. Exceptional Circumstances

We understand that exceptional circumstances can arise. If you believe you are entitled to a refund due to a technical failure or error on our part that prevented you from using the Service during a paid period, please contact us at hello@makerbrief.com within 14 days of the relevant payment. We will review your situation on a case-by-case basis.

We are not obligated to issue refunds in response to these requests but will endeavour to act fairly.

6. UK and EU Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer located in the UK, you may have a statutory right to cancel a digital service contract within 14 days of purchase (the ‘cooling-off period’) under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. However, by beginning to use Makerbrief after subscribing, you acknowledge that the service has commenced and that you expressly request and consent to waiving your right of withdrawal under Regulation 37 of those Regulations.

If you are a consumer located in the EU, the equivalent right arises under Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive, on the same basis.

If you have not yet accessed or used the paid service following subscription (i.e., you subscribed but never logged in), please contact hello@makerbrief.com within 14 days of your subscription date to request a refund under your statutory rights.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be communicated via the Service or by email and will apply to subscriptions made after the updated effective date.
