We use a small number of cookies. We do not currently use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party marketing cookies.
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies — Supabase Authentication
Provider: Supabase (Supabase Inc., USA)
Purpose: These cookies are essential to keep you securely signed in to the Service. They maintain your authenticated session so you do not have to log in on every page. Without these cookies, the Service cannot function.
Consent required: No. Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent requirements under the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Retention: Session cookies — deleted when you close your browser. Persistent session refresh tokens are stored for up to the duration of your session as configured by Supabase.
2.2 Strictly Necessary Cookies — Stripe Payment Security
Provider: Stripe, Inc. (USA)
Purpose: When you interact with the payment or subscription flow, Stripe sets cookies for fraud prevention and payment security purposes. These are essential to process payments safely and securely.
Consent required: No. These cookies are strictly necessary for the payment transaction and are exempt from consent requirements.

2.3 Functional Cookies — UI Preferences
Provider: Makerbrief (first-party)
Purpose: These cookies remember your interface preferences — for example, your sidebar layout state — so you do not have to reset them on each visit.
Consent required: Yes. These cookies are only set if you consent.
Retention: Up to 12 months, or until you withdraw consent.
2.4 Analytics Cookies
We do not currently use analytics cookies. If we introduce analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent before loading any such scripts.
3. What We Do Not Use
We do not use:
- Advertising or targeting cookies.
- Third-party social media cookies.
- Behavioural tracking or profiling cookies.
- Any cookie that tracks you across unrelated websites.
4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
When you first visit Makerbrief, a cookie consent banner will appear asking for your preferences. You can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise your choices by category. We do not assume consent from continued browsing — you must make an active choice.
Essential cookies (Supabase authentication, Stripe payment security) are always active and cannot be disabled — the Service cannot function without them.
Functional cookies (UI preferences such as sidebar state) are only set if you consent.
Analytics cookies — we do not currently use any analytics cookies. If this changes, you will be asked for consent before they are loaded.
Marketing cookies are not currently active. If we introduce them in the future, we will request your consent before loading any such scripts.
You can review or change your cookie preferences at any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page, or via the Cookie preferences section in your account Settings. Your consent is stored for 12 months and can be withdrawn at any time.
